Baronscourt Sheds Light on Insider Security Threat

London, 17 May 2006, Delegates were treated to the latest release of Baronscourt Technology’s MetaCompliance Suite at InfoSec 2006, held at the Olympia in London last month.

The MetaCompliance Suite has been designed to provide a best practice foundation for companies that are facing increasing demands from regulatory and legislative forces.  The flagship product, MetaComplaince Policy Communicator, significantly reduces the threat of internal security issues through policy enforcement and understanding.

The timely launch of the DTI’s Information Security Breaches survey at InfoSec has highlighted that many UK businesses are a long way from having a security-aware culture.  Their advice is to integrate security into normal business practice, through a clear security policy and staff education.

“The quality and quantity of attendees at the Infosec show has verified for us the continued importance of Information Security to the Private and Public sector in the UK”, shared Mr Robbie O’Brien, Managing Director of Baronscourt.  “Of great interest was the increased interest in I.T governance frameworks such as BS7799 and ITIL and the solutions that assist with the automation of these processes.  It is our belief that Information Security will continue to assume a greater importance in strategic plans for IT infrastructure going forward”.

"Experts estimate the process of writing IT Security Policies can take 3 -6 months, with no guarantees that policies will continue to cover all aspects of the changing regulations that govern IT security."
