Baronscourt, the global provider of IT Governance, Risk and Compliance software, today announced the launch of its seminar series with industry expert Alan Stead, Chair of the National Association for Information Management, to highlight the importance of information assurance awareness in Scotland. The seminar will be focused on enabling Scottish public sector organisations to deliver best practise user awareness to underpin its use of citizen data.
Constructed as a breakfast briefing this seminar will take place at the Sheraton Hotel in Edinburgh, on the 19th November 2009 and will focus on developing strategies for delivering user awareness for IT Assurance in Scottish public sector organisations.
Robert O’Brien, Managing Director of Baronscourt Technology feels that the seminar in Edinburgh will bring great benefit to Scottish organisations, “Many Scottish organisations are now starting on the IT Assurance journey, and are keen to implement best practice. In many areas we are finding that Scottish Management are leading the way on protecting consumer data and in reinforcing confidence in e-government initiatives. In particular there is increased interest in the next phase of governance automation tools such as those from Baronscourt.”
Mr O’Brien also commented that he was encouraged that “support for data protection projects was coming from the highest level of Scottish government. This differs from the companies experience in other countries such as France and Italy.”
The breakfast seminar will cover the latest IT Assurance issues, including User Awareness and IT Security best practice, and will focus on how to tackle the significant challenges facing public sector organisations in Scotland.
