Baronscourt, the leading provider of IT Assurance automation solutions to the public sector, will be sponsoring the National Local Authority Warning, Advice and Reporting Point Conference (NLAWARP), entitled ‘Beyond the Code of Connection’.
The NLAWARP conference is being held in association with Government Connect and The Local Government Association and will take place on 23rd November 2009, at Old Sessions House, Farringdon, London. Baronscourt have been supporting the WARP community since 2008, and will be in attendance at the NLAWARP conference, exhibiting MetaCompliance, their suite of IT Governance, Risk and Compliance solutions.
Robert O’Brien, CEO of Baronscourt Technology explains why the company are strong advocates of the WARP programme:
“Many public sector organisations are now at the start of their IT Assurance journey, and do not know where to begin. They require framework and structure, they cannot achieve IT Assurance alone, the more help and support they seek from WARPs and technology partners such as Baronscourt, the more successful their programmes will be. Awareness is a critical factor in all of this, there is a real synergy between the WARP programme and Baronscourt, both acting as enablers for organisations to develop the knowledge, education and awareness required for maintaining, best practice IT Assurance. “
IT Governance is essential to all public sector organisations; management and executive boards across the country are realising that this is not just an IT problem, but is an issue for the entire organisation. Secure information sharing and availability, both internally and externally across public sector networks, is a central tenet of IT Assurance, and awareness, at all levels of the organisation, is key to delivering this on an ongoing basis.
During the ‘Beyond the Code of Connection’ conference speakers from the LGA, CESG, GovCERT, the CPNI Warp programme and TigerScheme will look at the issues around PSN, Data Handling and will deliver an update on the National IA Programme for Local Government.
The conference is free for representatives from local authorities to attend, for more information go to the NLAWARP Website.
